What I have worked on_

  • UX/UI DESIGN, Design System

Overview_

Player One is the Steam Design System Redesign project that aims to overhaul and modernize the existing website of the Steam gaming platform. With the current system lacking coherence and appearing outdated, this initiative seeks to enhance the overall user experience, improve visual consistency, and align the design language with contemporary standards. By undertaking this project, we intend to create a design system that not only reflects the cutting-edge nature of the gaming industry but also provides users with an intuitive and visually appealing interface.

Objectives_

Visual Consistency:
  • Establish a cohesive and unified visual language throughout the Steam platform.

  • Create a set of standardized UI elements, including buttons, forms, and navigation components, to ensure a consistent look and feel across different sections of the platform.

Modernization:
  • Update the overall aesthetic of the design system to reflect current design trends and industry standards.

  • Incorporate responsive design principles to ensure a seamless user experience across various devices and screen sizes.

User-Centric Design:
  • Conduct user research to identify pain points and gather insights into user preferences.

  • Implement user feedback to enhance usability, accessibility, and overall satisfaction with the Steam platform.

Accessibility:
  • Ensure that the redesigned design system complies with accessibility standards, making the platform usable for individuals with diverse abilities.

  • Conduct accessibility audits and testing to identify and address potential issues.

Brand Alignment:
  • Align the design system with the Steam brand identity, ensuring that visual elements convey the brand personality effectively.

  • Incorporate brand elements seamlessly into the UI while maintaining a clean and user-friendly interface.

Scalability:
  • Design the system to be scalable, accommodating future features and updates without compromising visual integrity.

  • Develop a modular structure that allows for easy integration of new components and features as the Steam platform evolves.

Documentation:
  • Create comprehensive documentation for the redesigned design system, providing clear guidelines and resources for developers and designers.

  • Foster collaboration and consistency across teams by establishing a central repository for design assets and guidelines.

Performance Optimization:
  • Optimize the performance of the design system to ensure fast loading times and smooth interactions.

  • Prioritize efficiency in code and resource utilization for an optimal user experience.

By achieving these objectives, the Steam Design System Redesign project aims to elevate the visual appeal, functionality, and user satisfaction of the Steam gaming platform, positioning it as a leader in the digital gaming experience.
