SIA was created to democratize access to large language models, enabling organizations to customize and integrate them into their business operations. One of the tools developed by SIA is the chat widget, which utilizes AI technology to engage with users and provide product comparisons, recommendations, and custom answers based on their natural language descriptions.

EleccionesAI is a customized version of the chatbot, powered by SIA's Chat GPT technology. It is designed to provide users with information and guidance regarding the 2023 general elections in Spain. The chatbot is accompanied by an interactive landing page that encourages user engagement and provides easy access to relevant election-related content.

Objectives_

The project has three main objectives:

1. Inform and educate: Provide accurate and up-to-date information about the upcoming general elections in Spain, including key dates, participating parties, and candidates.

2. Empower voters: Help users understand the electoral process, voting procedures, and their rights and responsibilities as voters.

3. Promote SIA technology: Demonstrate the capabilities and benefits of SIA (Chat GPT technology) to create interactive and educational solutions that enhance the user experience. Raise awareness of SIA within a current and necessary context.

How can AI be used to simplify voter education and inform voters about their options within a week of an election?

My role_

As a product designer, my main responsibility is to design a chatbot experience that puts the user at the center. This involves carrying out research, designing user interfaces, and guaranteeing accessibility and brand consistency. I work closely with cross-functional teams, analyze data, and make iterative design changes to enhance the chatbot's performance and user satisfaction.

Research and Development_

The development of EleccionesAI began with a research into the electoral system and processes in Spain. User interviews and surveys were conducted to understand the information needs and pain points of potential voters. The data collected shaped the design and functionality of the chatbot widget already created for SIA.

Userflows were created to define and showing the path a user will take to complete a task, and allow users to complete desired tasks in as few steps as possible.

Chatbot Design and Functionality_

EleccionesAI's user-friendly chat interface was designed to simulate natural conversations with users. The bot's responses were powered by Chat GPT based model, ensuring that the information provided was accurate, reliable, and constantly updated.

The chatbot's features include:

1. General Election Information: Users can ask EleccionesAI about key election dates, polling stations, and the overall voting process.

2. Candidate Profiles: EleccionesAI provides detailed profiles of each candidate, including their political party, campaign promises, and past political experience.

3. Party Manifestos: Users can access summaries of each participating party's manifesto to better understand their stances on various issues.

Due to the tight deadline to develop and train the MLL, some ideas were discarded in order to maintain the chat functionalities at a more basic level. These ideas included:

• Comparisons between candidates programs.

• Use of infographics: show demographics information as answer.

• Verifying the accuracy of viral election-related news and dispelling misinformation.
  
  

Landing Page Design_

The accompanying landing page was designed to create a seamless and engaging experience for users. It features a user-friendly interface with clear call-to-action buttons to start a conversation with EleccionesAI. The landing page highlights the chatbot's key features and provides a brief overview of the upcoming elections and programs to support the user needs.

A contact form was added to encourage businesses to request a custom version of the chatbot.

💡 The chat can be expanded either by clicking on the mail CTA or the trigger button. If the user doesn't click, the chat will automatically expand after 3 seconds. This allows the user to take a look at the information without losing the main focus.

Testing and Iteration_

EleccionesAI underwent rigorous testing to ensure that it provided accurate information and responded appropriately to various user queries. User feedback was incorporated to enhance the bot's responses and fine-tune its functionality.

Launch and Impact_

EleccionesAI was launched ahead of the general elections, through social media and digital media, it made it easily accessible to a wide audience. The chatbot attracted of users and received positive feedback for its clarity, ease of use, and helpfulness in empowering voters.

Conclusion_

EleccionesAI, complete the role in informing and engaging citizens during the general elections in Spain. By providing accurate information, clarifying voter doubts, and promoting democratic participation, the chatbot contributed to creating a more informed and active electorate. The successful implementation of EleccionesAI demonstrated the potential of using advanced AI-driven chatbots to enhance voter education and engagement during electoral processes.
