DEGREE THESIS
Overview_
The interactive site "Crush or Cringe" was developed with the aim of educating teenagers about the importance of identifying patterns of toxic relationships and improving their emotional bonds. Recognizing the need for an accessible and engaging platform for this audience, the site seeks to provide relevant information and practical guides to foster healthy relationships and avoid harmful situations.
Objectives_
Raise awareness: Inform teenagers about toxic relationship patterns and potential signs of problematic behaviors in their emotional bonds.
Educate about healthy relationships: Provide resources and information to help teenagers improve their communication, empathy, and boundary-setting skills in their relationships.
Foster interaction: Design an interactive platform that engages users through games, quizzes, and surveys, promoting active learning.
Research and Discovery_
Interviews with teenagers were conducted, and online surveys were carried out to gain a better understanding of their perceptions of romantic and friendship relationships. The results revealed a lack of knowledge about signs of toxic relationships and the need for a safe space to explore these issues.
Design and Functionality_
A youthful and modern design approach was chosen to appeal to the target audience. The homepage features a clean and friendly design with vibrant colors and animated characters. An interactive "Know Your Relationship Style" section was incorporated, where users can take a quiz to identify potentially harmful behaviors.
The importance of an attractive and user-friendly design for the target audience was highlighted during the development process. Additionally, interactivity and the inclusion of real-life stories increased user engagement.
Content and Resources_
The site includes a variety of educational resources, such as informative articles, explanatory videos, and practical guides on how to improve communication and strengthen emotional bonds. Illustrated stories based on real-life situations were used to depict scenarios of healthy and toxic relationships.
Testing and Validation_
Before the launch, usability testing was conducted with teenagers to assess navigation and comprehension of the content. Valuable feedback was collected, leading to adjustments in the design and organization of information.
Implementation_
The site was developed as a responsive web platform, allowing access from both mobile devices and computers. Performance was optimized to ensure a smooth experience for users, regardless of the device they used.
Conclusions_
The interactive site "Crush or Cringe" has become a valuable tool for educating teenagers about healthy relationships. By providing relevant information in an entertaining way, the platform has achieved its goal of helping young people identify patterns of toxic relationships and improve their emotional bonds, thereby fostering healthier and more fulfilling relationships in their lives.
